Our Story
Greenbrier was founded in 2015 by a veteran team of communications professionals, drawing on their in-house experience during the frontier days of ridesharing and their deep political backgrounds. With our founders having witnessed firsthand the power of effective communication in shaping public opinion and navigating complex challenges through decades of pattern recognition, Greenbrier was built to share that knowledge with our clients and make a demonstrable impact on their businesses.
First launched as a specialized crisis communications firm, the team leveraged its in-house and political expertise to tackle a wide range of reputational challenges faced by high-profile brands and individuals and successfully guide our clients through the most turbulent times.
In late 2017, Greenbrier was acquired by The Messina Group, a global strategic consultancy founded by Jim Messina, President Barack Obama’s former Deputy Chief of Staff in the White House and architect of the successful 2012 reelection campaign. Greenbrier has operated as a division of TMG ever since, tapping into the firm’s deep political, campaign, and digital expertise, and combining forces when it benefits our clients.
With more resources, Greenbrier expanded its horizons. What was once mostly a crisis communications agency transformed into a full-stack strategy and communications firm. Today, we serve many industries, driving results for companies of all sizes, ranging from publicly traded transportation giants to ambitious Web3 projects.
